FAQ

Do you process RAW files?
Album Diva does not process RAW files.

What does it cost to have Album Diva design an album?
Please register your studio with Album Diva to receive complete pricing details.

How do I send the images to Album Diva?
Please send your album images in high-resolution JPG format, cropped and color-corrected with their color profile embedded as AdobeRGB or sRGB. The image profiles must match the specifications of your preferred album company.

Files that do not have the correct color profile embedded will delay the album design process.

Where do I send the images?
You may send your images on CD, DVD or portable drive to the following address. Or you may upload your images to the Album Diva server using a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client.

Album Diva
P.O. Box 5082
La Quinta, CA 92248

Do you design matted albums?
Not at this time. Album Diva's expertise is in designing magazine-style, flush-mount albums. Our preferred album makers are Leather Craftsmen and AsukaBook. Please view the Portfolio page to see samples of my designs.

When I got married, I did not purchase an album from my photographer. Can I send you my high-resolution photos and have you design an album for me?
At this time, Album Diva only works with professional photographers. Please contact your photographer and ask him/her to have Album Diva design your album.

How many images may I send?
It depends on how many pages your album will be and whether the precise number of images will be provided to me for design, or whether you want me to choose the images from a larger pool of photos. Album Diva averages between 1.5 to 2.5 images per side.

Can you select the images that will be used in my album design?
Yes, if you would prefer that I select the images from a pool of photos you provide, please be sure to note if any are "must-have" images. I recommend splitting the pool of images into two folders: "Must-Have" and "Maybe Have." I also recommend including detail shots for backgrounds and to add ambience to the album story. A small fee per image for selecting from more than 100 images will be charged.

Can I send you only images I want to include in the album?
Of course. Please send the images in the sequence you would like them to appear and number them accordingly (001.jpg, 002.jpg; 003.jpg, etc.). For your reference, we recommend the following image quantities.

10-sided album = up to 25 images
20-sided album = up to 50 images
30-sided album = up to 75 images
40-sided album = up to 100 images
50-sided album = up to 120 images
60-sided album = up to 150 images
80-sided album = up to 200 images

These are recommendations only. Of course, if you choose to submit substantially more than our suggested number, the album will appear more "crowded" visually.

Will you do any color "enhancement" or "conversion" on my images?
Your images should be sent to me color-corrected and/or enhanced already. If you would like me to convert your color images to black/white or sepia using a Photoshop action, you would indicate this preference on the Album Design Request Form. Or you can send your own black/white or sepia versions to accompany the color images.

WORKFLOW

Step 1: Image Preparation & Organization
a.) Prepare your high-resolution images (300ppi) for submission by color-correcting and enhancing the photos.
b.) Please make sure the color profile is AdobeRGB or sRGB and that your image profiles conform to the album maker's specifications.
c.) Organize the images in event order sequence. Your cameras should have been time-synchronized so the images are in order as they occurred.

Please designate the cover photo as "0000.jpg," if a cover photo applies in your situation. If you have more than one photo to use on the cover, please define them as "0000_1.jpg, 0000_2.jpg, etc."

Your images may be submitted as cropped by you or I can crop them as needed for the design layout.

Step 2: Submit Design Request Form
Complete the online Album Diva Design Request Form.

Step 3: Send Files to Album Diva
Burn your album files on to a CD, DVD or portable hard drive and mail them to me at my PO box address. Or you may transfer your images to the Album Diva server using a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client.

Step 4: Pay the Deposit
Submit your 50% deposit to Album Diva via check or credit card. After verifying that your files have been submitted correctly; that your files do not have any color profile issues; and that all funds have cleared, your album design will begin. Turnaround time is 7 to 14 business days depending on the size of the project.

Step 5: Review Album Design
A low-resolution PDF of the initial album design will be emailed to you for your review.

Step 6: Approve Revisions
Any revisions requested will be completed in five business days. After the album has been approved by you, the remaining balance is due.

Step 7: Pay Balance & Receive Final Album Files
After receipt of the balance, the final JPG files of the album design will be posted on the Album Diva FTP site or mailed to you on disk, depending on your preference.
